Crondon Park is a family-owned business. We were introduced to the previous owner Robert Orr in October 1989, unfortunately, he has recently passed away, and he will be sadly missed. The estate was originally owned by the Orr Family, who farmed Crondon valley for many years. The club owes a debt of gratitude to Robert Orr and his family for assistance in achieving the initial planning consent and for their cooperation with its current owners, the Fox family. After several years of development, Crondon Park Golf Club opened on the 31st of May 1994. There was a queue waiting to tee off and Arthur Jenner paid his £10.00 green fee and was the first player to officially hit a golf ball from the first tee at 5am. Over the years we have staged several very prestigious golf tournaments, including Royal Variety Club charity events with well-known celebrities and PGA tournaments.
We boast the longest closing golf hole in the world and are considered by many to be a formidable golf challenge for all standards of play. We are constantly making improvements to the complex year on year. Although proprietary owned, we have the atmosphere of a member’s club. The courses have improved beyond recognition in the past twenty-five years; although delighted with the progress, we strive for perfection. Our Head Greenkeeper Stewart Rogers and his enhanced team have made Crondon one of the finest courses in the County.
Following our opening, we subsequently commenced staging weddings and functions, which very quickly became the financial provider for the club. These activities have allowed the management to make further substantial investments to develop the site. Our main function suite, The Baronial Hall (circa 1606), has become one of the most popular and successful function venues in Essex, staging over two hundred Weddings a year.
We recently won “The Best Countryside Wedding Venue in Britain”. We have a luxurious Bridal Suite, situated in its own detached cottage, in a totally secluded location. We also have five other bedrooms for guests. Master’s Lounge is located next to our accommodation, perfectly positioned for breakfast the morning after your function. This room also makes a perfect space for meetings/PowerPoint Presentations up to 100 people theatre style. Our new Fayreways Restaurant is now open for Sunday Lunches and private functions.
Whether you’re playing our Championship Golf Course, attending a Wedding, Party, or Corporate Event, we have become ‘The Venue for all Occasions’. You will find that our staff are welcoming, friendly, organised and professional with an eye for detail. Our team are also extremely accommodating, they will be delighted to ensure that your visit will be relaxed, happy and memorable. Our catering team, headed up by Paul Groves, offers a wonderful standard of cuisine, you will not be disappointed with our efforts.
We are in the picturesque village of Stock, off Stock Road (B1007). Our multi-purpose venue, which boasts one of the region’s top golf clubs, is easily accessible from Junction 16 on the A12. We are also fifteen minutes from junction 28 on the M25. Once through the entrance pillars, our long tree-lined drive offers views across our Championship Course and panoramic views over the countryside. Every visitor is important to us and every event, regardless of the size, can be assured they will receive due care and attention. Our master plan includes the development of a Hotel, Leisure Centre and Housing Development. The management team are determined to make Crondon Park Estate the premier leisure venue in Essex.
