Crondon Driving Range Academy
Crondon Park’s Essex driving range boasts a fantastic Driving Range Academy open to all members, guests, green fee visitors, and the public to come and use.
With its 14 floodlit bays, outdoor grass range, synthetic Huxley style putting green plus three more practice chipping and putting greens, you will be spoilt for choice.
The driving range is self-sufficient, with a change machine for the ball dispenser so anyone can use it at any time. Golf ball prices are:
25 balls – £3.50
45 balls – £4.50
90 balls – £7.00
For the golfer who likes to spend their spare time practicing, DIGICARDs are available at £40 (equivalent to £3.00 for 45 balls). These can be purchased from the Driving Range Academy, Pro Shop, and Clubhouse.

Lessons can be arranged with our Head PGA Professional, James Scade, at your convenience. James’s offices will be on the Driving Range, and he will be teaching all-day and everyday including evenings, for private tuition, or after-school club.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of James Scade, as Head (PGA) Professional. James turned professional in 2010 with a handicap of +2 and has had a very successful playing career. He has now decided to dedicate himself to teaching others how to play better golf.

25 plus wins on the PGA Professional circuit, competed Worldwide.
2nd in the Egyptian Open.
Multiple top 5 finishes on The Euro Pro Tour.
Multiple 2nd place finishes on Jamega Pro Golf.
Competed on The Challenge Tour.
1st place on the Gecko Pro Tour (Marbella Golf and Country Club, Spain)
Essex Assistants’ Champion 2011 and 2012.
East Region Assistants’ Champion 2012 and 2013.
East Anglian Open Champion 2012.
2-time winner National PGA Inter County Champion.
Holder of course records: -6 at Braintree Golf Club: Shot a 62 -9 Bishops Stortford Golf Club: -6 Chelmsford Golf Club: Joint course record at Woodcote Park -5: and shot a 64-7 at South Beds Golf.
James will be based on the Driving Range . He will be offering our Members the opportunity to enhance their game. He will be teaching on a one to one basis, but also offering group coaching. You will notice favourable changes taking place on our Driving Range, including the introduction of new practise balls. James is an extremely sociable person; he will be playing with you from time to time and he will be around the clubhouse to offer you valuable tips. As an introduction and for you to assess James’s ability to teach you, he will be offering the Members FREE WORKSHOPS, without any obligation to continue.
