Autumn Weddings
September is actually now the second most popular month for weddings in the UK. Gone are the days when weddings were a strictly spring/summer affair, with couples increasingly turning to the autumn months for their nuptials.
If you are looking to tie the knot in autumn, we have the perfect venue! The Baronial Hall is a Tudor oak-beamed barn, steeped in history and charm, and the perfect backdrop to your big day.
Find us in the beautiful Crondon Valley, surrounded by the Essex countryside and views of our championship golf course.
Why choose an autumn wedding?
With rich, golden colours and falling leaves, autumn provides some stunning foliage that can really create the perfect atmosphere, as well as the most beautiful wedding photographs.
Autumn weddings are also ideal for those keen to avoid the humid summer temperatures, as well as the struggle of navigating the summer holidays to find a date that suits everyone.
Because autumn weddings are having a surge in popularity, if you’ve got your heart set on getting married at this time of year, we’d recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Our autumn wedding venue
If you’ve opted for an autumn wedding, you’ll no doubt be looking to take advantage of the seasonal tones and surroundings when it comes to styling your wedding. What could be more perfect for a rustic autumn wedding than a cosy barn?!
As well as light oak-beamed décor, the Baronial Hall is enhanced with chandeliers replicated from the period, as well as Rosewood flooring, laid in County Hall 130 years prior to us acquiring it. Having undergone extensive refurbishment and improvements, the Hall is fully air conditioned and temperature controlled, keeping you and your guests warm even when those chilly evenings set in.

Food and drink
One of the biggest talking points of a wedding is always the food! We’re lucky that our county is renowned for its fantastic produce which is why we source the freshest local ingredients for our chefs, so if you’re considering an autumn wedding, it’s a great way to make the most of the tasty seasonal vegetables available.
As well as a choice of menus for the main sit-down meal, we’ll provide your evening buffet (or even a hog roast if you’d prefer!), tea, coffee, and dinner mints, as well as a Full English breakfast the next morning. We also have an alcohol licence, and our fully inclusive wedding packages include a glass of Prosecco for your speeches as well as half a bottle of wine per guest.

Autumn flowers for weddings
From earthy shades, to rich reds and purples, whatever your colour scheme there are some gorgeous flowers in bloom in autumn.
If you’re keeping it classic, cream dahlias, zinnias and snowberries signal sophisticated elegance, while privet berries and peach peony roses add a splash of colour to your autumn bouquet or table centrepieces.
View Special OffersAutumn fashion for weddings
Opting for an autumn wedding gives you the perfect opportunity to experiment with different styles and stray away from tradition if you choose to. Half-sleeve and long-sleeved or bell-sleeved dresses are popular for the autumn months, as are V neck, backless and layered styles. Of course, lace remains popular for all seasons and autumn is no exception.
When it comes to wedding guests, rich jewel tones are popular – think reds, purples and burgundies, as well as wraps and shawls.
Autumn wedding ideas
Couples are becoming more and more creative with their wedding days, putting time and effort into creating memorable personalised touches. For your autumn wedding, why not consider switching coffee for hot chocolate or mulled wine, or why not make the most of seasonal produce for your meal. If you’ve got an October wedding booked you could even get creative with pumpkins for your centrepiece decorations.

What can I say! Thank you so very much for making me one of the happiest girls ever! To say Mike and I had a great day yesterday would be the biggest understatement; we have had so many lovely comments from our guests on what a wonderful wedding we had and that’s all down to you. The food was perfect, the bar and waiting staff were nothing but polite and extremely efficient and Tracey as our front our house was flawless. I’ve had so many calls and emails back fourth with Kara and the wedding team over the last year or so. Each time, nothing has ever been too much trouble, emails are responded to so quickly and how Kara remembers so many faces, dates and names is beyond me! There are so many beautiful wedding venues out there, but those venues are only ever as good as the people behind it. You not only have a beautiful venue but you also have so many brilliant staff who make that venue shine. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
What our couples say…

“We had the perfect day. Lindsey and the team were brilliant and were there to make our day run as seamlessly as possible, preventing us from any stress or drama at all. We love Crondon Park - it has a special place in our heart and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering booking their wedding there. Thank you.”

“We got married at Crondon last Friday and we cannot find the words to express how truly amazing our day was. We did the booking and planning through Fiona who was lovely and on the day we had Deborah who was just incredible - nothing was too much trouble and she really put us both at ease. The food was amazing and all of our guests commented on this as well as the beautiful venue. Wish we could do it all again. Thanks so much to everyone for really making this the best day of our lives.”
