6 beautiful shots of your big day that you’ll treasure forever

Your wedding is a truly special occasion and a good photographer will capture those magical moments that you’ll enjoy looking back on for years to come.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so it makes sense to capture all those magical moments on film. As one of the premier wedding venues in Essex, we’ve seen our fair share of wedding photographs, so here is our pick of the top romantic moments to capture on our big day.

Getting dressed

Getting into your wedding gown is one of the most special moments of the day. It’s when everything starts to feel real, and you feel like a bride for the very first time. It is a great opportunity to get some shots of you and your girls looking happy and excited and, once you’re dressed, your photographer has a chance to capture the look on your father’s face as he sees his little girl all ready to walk down the aisle – this is usually an incredibly emotional moment and you’ll be happy to have a permanent memento of it.

First look

Whether you wait until the ceremony, or whether you jump on the latest trend and have an official ‘first look’, that moment when you first see each other always creates a beautiful and priceless photo. There are so many emotions in play at this moment and, when you look back on the photo in years to come, you’ll find yourselves reliving that exciting feeling of nervous anticipation you experienced when you saw your spouse-to-be in a way you never had before.

The kiss

Your first kiss as husband and wife is when you ‘seal the deal’ so to speak, so it’s definitely one of the top romantic moments that you want your photographer to capture for posterity – especially if the groom pulls out a fancy dip kiss. As well as the kiss itself, the moment when you turn to your guests straight afterwards, with beaming smiles across your faces, also makes a pretty magical photograph.

Confetti throw

The confetti throw as you leave the ceremony venue makes an ideal photo opportunity. It usually results in a spontaneous and informal shot that really captures the romance and happiness of the day, and the confetti itself adds plenty of colour and interest to the shot. Some venues have restrictions on confetti-throwing so it’s always worth checking beforehand – biodegradable options such as dried flower petals often provide a happy compromise.

Alone time

Your wedding day can be pretty manic, and it can feel like you’re getting pulled in lots of different directions at once. Sneaking away with your photographer for some couple photos gives you the chance to escape the hustle and bustle and spend some quality time with your new spouse – and it usually makes for beautifully intimate and romantic photographs that you’ll be proud to put on display. To really up the romance factor, try to time this for around sunset – the soft golden light will add a romantic (and flattering!) glow to all of the resulting photos.

First dance

The moment you first take to the dance floor as a married couple is, without doubt, one that you want your photographer to capture. Despite being surrounded by people, you’ll still be in your own little world and enjoying some rare time together to take stock of the day. Looking back on these photographs will give you a great opportunity to relive all those whispers and giggles you shared and will help to bring back those feelings of being newly married to the love of your life.

Of course, an experienced photographer will know which images to capture, but if you have something special in mind, don’t be afraid to let them know. By asking your photographer to document the most magical moments of your wedding you’ll have a perfect visual reminder of one of the happiest days of your life.
