2019 Wedding Trends You Must Follow

Wedding Bouquet at Crondon Park

A round-up of some of the hottest wedding trends we expect to see in the coming year.

There are some really exciting wedding trends coming up this year. And from royal-inspired designs to a new focus on natural decorations, we’ve got the pick of the bunch.

Natural décor

After several years of domination, it looks like vintage and rustic-themed weddings may be on the way out. Instead, 2019’s hottest weddings are all about incorporating natural touches into the décor and bringing the outdoors inside. Think whimsical and romantic floral designs combined with lush, organic foliage, or even trees, for a fresh and elegant look that is right on trend.

Classic gowns and regal headwear

Last year’s royal wedding has been a big influence on 2019 wedding trends, particularly when it comes to wedding gown designs. Thanks largely to Meghan Markle’s beautiful bateau-necked couture dress, many brides are rejecting elaborate materials and ornate embellishments in favour of simple yet stunning designs. Of course, even a simple dress needs a statement accessory or two, and 2019 also sees the return of that perennial royal favourite – the tiara.

Deeper, brighter colours

Forget pretty pastels and understated neutrals; 2019 weddings are making a statement with pops of bold colour. In particular, purple is set to be a hugely popular colour this year, with shades ranging from violet to rich indigo. If you’re looking for something a little brighter, you could always plump for another of this season’s hottest shades – coral. This cheerful colour is perfect for spring or summer weddings and can be used throughout your colour scheme, from flowers and décor to make up and bridesmaid dresses.

Signature scents

We all put effort into ensuring our homes smell good, so why wouldn’t we do the same for our weddings? This year, we expect to see many couples choosing to light their big day with scented candles. As well as providing a romantic ambience, they will also make your wedding day smell beautiful – and you will always associate that scent with one of the happiest days of your life.

Alternative eats

The traditional three-course wedding breakfast is also set to get a bit of a shake-up this year, with an increasing number of couples requesting a selection of smaller plates and tapas style dishes in order to give their guests a greater selection. For a more casual option, you could choose to provide a selection of grazing tables featuring cheeses, meats, fruits and other antipasti, that your guests can help themselves to throughout the day.

 Show-stopping wedding cakes

In recent years there has been a trend for more naturalistic, understated cakes, but in 2019 we will see a return to more extravagant and opulent designs with features such as detailed piping, personalised monograms and touches of gold or silver. Bespoke, show-stopping cakes are the order of the day – so let your imagination run wild.

Of course, trends may come and go, but some things never go out of style – like a great venue. With its unique banqueting hall and stunning location, our Essex wedding venue is the perfect choice for your wedding and can be dressed to fit your vision – whatever that may be. And whichever of this year’s trends you embrace, our team will ensure your wedding day is extra special and truly unforgettable.
